Dr. Joshua S. Gordon, O.D.

Dr. Joshua S. Gordon attended the University of Maryland, College Park and majored in Biology.  He was then accepted early as a three year undergraduate to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in North Philadelphia. He received his Bachelor of Science degree after his first year and went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry degree three years later.

While studying for his doctorate, Dr. Gordon did residencies in pediatrics and low vision at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia. At the Boston VA hospital he co- managed glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. He studied contact lenses at one of the most renowned contact lens specialty practices, Broward Eye Care, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His final residency with the Katzen Eye Group in Baltimore afforded him ample exposure to work with pre and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery patients as well as treat rare and advanced ocular diseases.

After his graduation, Dr. Gordon joined Barenburg Eye Associates.  In addition to comprehensive eye care, Dr. Gordon specializes in the treatment and management of dry eye disease.  He recently built a state of the art, restorative dry eye center at our Ellicott City office.  He deals with many complex contact lens cases.  He is proficient in fitting soft, rigid gas permeable, and hybrid contact lenses.  Dr. Gordon has tremendous experience with fitting irregular corneas including keratoconus and post refractive surgery and post corneal transplant surgery patients.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Gordon lectures and serves on contact lens advisory panels for Bausch and Lomb as well as Synergeyes.  He has been published in Optometric Office magazine and has done webinars for Optometric Office on line discussing the benefits of Ocular Coherence Tomography.

Dr. Gordon is certified by the National Board of Optometry and is a member of both the Maryland and American Optometric Associations.
