Dr. Robert Loeb, M.D.

Specialties: Eye disease with a special focus on the management of cataracts; glaucoma; corneal and conjunctival infections and inflammations, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration.

Dr. Robert A. Loeb joined Barenburg Eye Associates as an ophthalmologist in residence in January 2015 after practicing for thirty years in both the Northeast and Southeast sections of Baltimore.  He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University Of Maryland; did a year of internship at the Univ. of Maryland Mid-town complex and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Univ. of Maryland Hospital.

Dr. Loeb is board certified in Ophthalmology and was named Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at the U. of Maryland Hospital from July 1980 – June 1981.  He served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine until 2012.  He currently has privileges at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital and the Eye Surgery Center of White Marsh.

Dr. Loeb has served on numerous boards and hospital committees and is a consultant for several managed eye care plans.   He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Medical Association.
